Did you know

Did you know there is more to The Dad Network than might initially meet the eye! We wanted to put it all down in 1 blogpost so that you know all that we offer. So, here we go:

Did You Know:

That The Dad Network is on Facebook and we run a private FB group just for dads? This group currently has 650 members and is growing daily. 650 dads from all over the globe sharing their fears, hopes, dreams, failures, successes and news with other dads. This support network for dads is extraordinary. It ranges from creating Fifa tournaments with each other to discussing peoples most intimate fears. Never in a million years did I think I’d find someone who had experienced the same difficulties that I had, yet in this group I did. New dads announce the births of their babies and dads to be ask advice and seek support from others. I’m extremely proud of the group and all that it provides. I think it’s a much needed on-line support group that dads can use as they wish, to get from it what they need.

Dads sharing with dads – you can’t get a better way to become a better a dad.

Did You Know:

That we run a private Dad Bloggers group? This is a really active group of over 100 dad bloggers. It’s a great place to share posts with other bloggers, get a few comments and ask for advice. Dad bloggers can promote their blog posts and find new bloggers to follow and new blog posts to read. Dad bloggers sharing with dad bloggers – you can’t get a better way to become a better dad blogger.

Dad Bloggers GroupDid you Know:

That we have just created a Parent Bloggers group? We’ve seen such a success with the dad bloggers group that we thought we’d open one up to parent bloggers of all shapes and sizes. We love the idea of parent bloggers helping other parent bloggers. The group will provide a place for bloggers to share their blog posts and find other blogs to read and new bloggers to follow. A place to promote your own blog but also support others with theirs.

Pbloggers GroupDid You Know:

We run a massive linky each week called The Big Fat Linky of the Week? Over 70 bloggers come and link up their favourite blogposts most weeks. It’s a brilliant place to share your posts, find new blogs to read and get a bit of traffic! We co-host with Martyn from Inside Martyn’s Mind and we both really enjoy reading the wide range of posts that link up each week. Come and join us each Saturday from midnight!

The Dad Vlog

Did You Know:

We’re hosting a Father’s Day event to celebrate being dads this year? Details will be confirmed ASAP but if you’re in the dads group, you’ll be the first to hear about it!

Did You Know:

Our Instagram is the most active of all our social media accounts? We post several pictures a day and enjoy speaking to so many different people. If you’re not on our Instagram, you really should be!

Did You Know:

We have 7 bloggers writing for The Dad Network? Yep, we have 7 other fab bloggers who all contribute regularly. Keep an eye out for their posts on keeping fit, running, parenting, gadgets and gaming!

Did You Know:

That you can sign up to The Dad List to get email updates, the latest posts and any offers sent straight to you? Whether it’s sports, gadgets or parenting, we’ll send it straight to you.

Did You Know:

That I’m a full time teacher? That’s right, everything you see above is all done in my spare time. A.K.A late at night when I should be in bed asleep or during the night feeds! It is for this reason that I have to bow out of the dad banter conversations that happen on twitter! Being a teacher restricts what I can and can’t say publicly quite a lot but rest assured, if I had free reign I’d be there with bells on talking about sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll! You wouldn’t know what’s hit you!

So there you have it! The whole Dad Network picture. Our aim is to be a resource for dads in so many ways; the support networks are key and have been such a success. We’d love for you to come and join us.

We’d also love for you to share this post. We’re not usually in the business of asking people to share our posts, we hope for that to happen organically, but in this instance, we’re asking for a share on Twitter, Facebook or even, add your own introduction and copy n’ paste it onto your blog! We just want to get the word out that there are resources for dads!

  3. A few things I didn’t know there. Good idea for a post. It’s all about awareness. It’s a shame you’re unable to post about sex, drugs and rock n roll… we’re all dying to know. Haha. Now get some sleep and stop working on your silly blog…oh wait, it’s 1:20 a.m. over here… I should heed my own advice.

  4. Interesting to know what is out there for dads. It’s such s great idea as a lot of time all focused on mums! Need to show my hubby this a bit more! Love the instagram account btw! Sarah xx #bigfatlinky

  5. I did not know that you were a full-time teacher, that’s impressive! I struggle with blogging doing only part-time. I also didn’t know there were 7 of you!

  6. Your new facebook group has been helpful for me already, especially thats to Ricky and his technical tips on there, so thank you! Feel free to link this up to my ten things linky that’s now live if you fancy ;)

    Stevie :)

  7. Thanks for this post. I was feeling sad that my lack of a Y chromosome would stop me from joining the dad’s group so I’m really excited about joining your new group :)

It’s nice to read that somebody else is working full time and blogging as well. I’m definitely a bit sleep deprived since starting blogging!

Thanks for hosting the linky- I love it!

  8. I didn’t know you had so many contributors!…thanks for setting up the parent blogger group too, it’s great to see new blogs and posts in one place :)

  9. I didn’t know you did all of this! I’m almost sad that I’m not a dad as there’s so much going on here! What you’ve created is fantastic – you should be very proud of yourselves :) #bigfatlinky

  10. Damn responsibilities holding you back Al haha.. Just requested to join the parenting Facebook group which I was totally unaware of! Not gonna lie the dad network kind of makes me wanna be a dad – great thing you have set up :)

  11. Great post now I know all of the places I can stalk. ….I mean follow you guys. Just kidding but I’ll definitely be joining your Facebook parents group :)

  12. So many things to be proud of, well done! I’ve been following you on Instagram for quite a while, I love seeing your uploads. It’s great that you have a Facebook group for Dad’s, I’m in a few mum ones, I love going on them, and can always rely on someone having answers to any questions I have, or just for someone to talk to!

  13. Didn’t know about Instagram. Looks like I’ll have to join. How do you fit it all in. I’m a full time carer to Autistic stepson and don’t find time to blog. Never mind teaching, blogging, tweeting and instagramming..

  14. I think this all sounds just brilliant and I’m so impressed you’re cramming so much into your days. Mind you, they do say that if you want something done then ask a busy person don’t they??

I’m personally loving having easy access to posts written by blokes – life is a bit of everyone isn’t it and you can definitely have too many women in one place ;)

  15. Did you know…that you are amazing? I love your Twitter, blog, FB parents group but I didn’t know you did all those other things. And on top of those you are a teacher? #Superman status!!

I found the “Did You Know” post at last! You do so much I really don’t know how you fit it all in. Great site, I’m still mooching around it. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

  17. Great post, Al! It must be such a relief when dads come across your network and groups and to be able to have groups like us mummies do too. The support you have between you must be second to none. I’ll have to get my other half involved.. if he doesn’t fob you off again haha. Jade #bigfatlinky

  19. As if I didn’t have enough other content to consume, I’ve now added 10, yes 10, new items to investigate! You guys are doing some seriously great work and it’s great to be a teeny, tiny part of it.

Thanks for all you do. Still dipping my toe in the linky, but hoping to be ankle deep in other aspects of the network soon!

    Make it a great day!

  20. Great list of ‘Did You Know’s’ and I will hang my head in hame to say – ‘No I didn’t’ for rather a few of those little facts.
